Morgan Sindall tees off for a good cause

Morgan Sindall took to the golf course to raise £3,400 for St Luke’s Hospice.

The team from the firm’s Plymouth office completed four rounds of golf in just one day, to raise money for the hospice, which provides free end of life care for over 3,200 terminally ill patients each year in Plymouth, South West Devon and East Cornwall.

The company’s office in Plymouth holds close links with the charity and the ‘four rounds in one day’ event was a continuation of the company’s on-going fundraising efforts to support the hospice and the amazing work the charity does.

The company was joined by seven Devon based organisations including Faithful + Gould, Robinson White Partnership, Capita Architecture, Derwent Flooring, Bailey Partnership, the University of Exeter and Mitchell Architects. The group set off at sunrise and had golfed a distance just shy of a full marathon by the time they completed the 72 holes just under 12 hours later.

Nigel Whelan, area manager at Morgan Sindall, said: “St Luke’s Hospice cares for thousands of terminally ill people in the local community, and has provided end of life care for loved ones of staff at the Morgan Sindall Plymouth office.

“Four rounds of golf in one day is not an easy task but the whole team showed great enthusiasm and we’re delighted to have raised so much money for such a brilliant organisation.”
