Morgan Sindall plc secures place on key Southern Construction Framework

Morgan Sindall plc has been appointed to a major new framework covering the South of England.

The £4 billion Southern Construction Framework will be available as a vehicle for public bodies in the region to procure major building works (projects over £1 million). It has been established jointly by Hampshire County Council, Devon County Council, and Haringey Council.

The framework is set to be operational from summer 2015 and succeeds the iESE (Improvement & Efficiency South East) framework, the Construction Framework South West (CFSW), and the London Construction Programme. It will also be complementary to the new suite of local construction frameworks being established by the London Construction Programme.

Morgan Sindall has been appointed on all three framework lots for projects ranging in value from £1 million and above, and will now compete with several other contractors on the four-year framework.

The framework will govern the procurement of a full spectrum of new build and refurbishment schemes in education, health and community. These include libraries, civic office developments, programmes for police and fire authorities, and leisure and sports facilities.

John Homer, Morgan Sindall’s Executive Director for the Southern Construction Framework , said: “We welcome the arrival of the Southern Construction Framework and are delighted to have secured a place on it. The framework is set to build on the efficiencies created by the frameworks it is replacing by further streamlining the procurement process and delivering improved performance, quality and value for money from which public bodies will benefit. We look forward to being a procurement partner on this framework which will have such a direct and positive impact on the lives of local communities across the South.

“We believe Morgan Sindall’s commitment to excellence, paired with our focus on social value and collaborative working, make us an effective partner on schemes large and small. Our teams have achieved exceptional results against key performance indicators and customer satisfaction throughout the lifetime of the frameworks which preceded the Southern Construction Framework and we look forward to continuing to build upon this legacy as we work closely with our partners to deliver innovative, quality projects on time and on budget.”

Morgan Sindall’s Southern Construction Framework appointment follows its appointment to the £1 billion iESE Framework in 2011. The four-year iESE appointment saw Morgan Sindall deliver over £300 million worth of projects over the lifetime of the framework. The company was most recently appointed to a £40 million package of works to create 1,155 new school places for the London Borough of Southwark through the framework.
