Morgan Sindall hands over keys to new Glossop Primary Care Centre
Morgan Sindall has completed work on a £4.8 million primary care centre for the residents of Glossop, Derbyshire.
The firm handed over the keys to the new Glossop Primary Care Centre in George Street.
The 1,320m² building offers modern consulting rooms, clinics, dental services and provides flexible accommodation for a number of healthcare and community services. It incorporates a number of sustainable features including solar photovoltaic panels which will provide up to 30 per cent of the daily hot water supply and CO² air source heat pumps to supplement the heating on the ground floor.
The healthcare facilities were completed for Bury, Tameside and Glossop Community Solutions, as part of a NHS Local Improvement Finance Trust (LIFT) initiative. The public private partnership scheme is designed to create new community-based primary care facilities and improve existing centres across the country.
Morgan Sindall previously delivered two primary healthcare centres for Bury, Tameside and Glossop Community Solutions in 2008. The firm completed the £10 million Ashton Primary Care Centre in Ashton-under-Lyne and the £10.6 million Radcliffe Primary Care Centre in Radcliffe, Bury.
“The new centre will offer a wide range of health services for the Glossop community all under one roof,” says Nigel Loftus, Morgan Sindall project manager. “We have thoroughly enjoyed working with Bury, Tameside and Glossop Community Solutions to deliver these long-awaited improvements which will offer accessible, state-of-the-art facilities for many generations to come.”
