Morgan Sindall gives students top tips on how to secure job interview success
Morgan Sindall hosted a CV writing and interview workshop for construction and carpentry students at Hertford Regional College. The students were given a helping hand to make sure they stand out from the crowd of applicants and attract the attention of potential employers.
The college students aged between 18 and 21, based at the Broxbourne Campus in Turnford, Hertford, were given a presentation by Helen Bain, Morgan Sindall marketing manager, and Colin Ratcliffe, Morgan Sindall perfect delivery manager. They were given tips on how to write a CV and guidance on how to distinguish themselves from the competition at interviews.
“It is extremely tough for young people to find work at the moment but I was very impressed with the attitude of these students,” says Helen. “The CV is the first chance that you have to sell yourself to a potential employer. We feel it is important to develop more opportunities for young people in the construction industry.”
“We made it clear to the students how they must communicate clearly the information that is relevant to the employer,” adds Colin. “They need to think about what an employer wants and address these areas in a concise manner. We wish the students well in taking their next steps into the working world. It is tough for young people to find work at the moment but a good CV and interview skills are definitely steps in the right direction.”
Morgan Sindall, which has local offices in Welwyn Garden City, has recently completed a contract to redevelop the College’s two main campuses, at Ware and Broxbourne.
