Hull’s Kingswood Academy offers state-of-the-art facilities complemented by bold architectural design that has earned both regional and national awards.
Built to replace previous facilities constructed in the 1990s, the new facility is a flagship project as part of Hull City Council’s £400 million Building Schools for the Future (BSF) programme.
The four-storey academy includes media facilities, a recording studio and industry-standard areas for science, fine art and technology. To encourage interaction with the local community, several of the school’s facilities are made available for public use. These include a learning centre, sports hall, floodlit synthetic turf football pitch, and a high quality performing arts theatre which features its own dedicated ‘plaza’ entrance and box office.

The building received a BREEAM Very Good rating in recognition of its environmental credentials, in addition to a ‘Performance Beyond Compliance’ certificate as part of the Considerate Constructors Scheme.
